Our surveys show that a staggering 82.3% of users say that their internet privacy is very important to them, while only 17.7% say it’s somewhat important or not important.
In this age of big data, laws like the GDPR have focused consumer attention towards the choices in keeping their personal data private. However, nearly half of even computer-savvy Facebook users did not know about the existence of Facebook’s Ad Privacy Settings.
Facebook has lost much of users trust, even though there are plenty of options for them to change. But it’s difficult to encounter these options even if you look for them, and the few that do find them uniformly criticize the tedium of the three to five taps required, each, for every item they want to remove.

Our Changes
Based off of these insights and research results, we went to work!
Below, you will find examples of the changes we made to Facebook’s News Feed, Pop-Up Menu and Ad Preferences Pages. We also included ‘before’ images so that you can compare our changes, to how Facebook currently looks.
You can also find our presentation video at the bottom which will give you an overview of what we changed, how we did it, and why!

Benefits of our Changes
- Quick and easy access to the ad preferences page for mobile users
- Gives users peace of mind and a better understanding of how their data is used
